Spirit of Worship
Bryce, Illustrator, Photoshop, Poser
June 2007

Originally my idea was to make this image an outdoors scene with leaves floating above a woman worshiping and dancing. When I did my test renders it just was not coming together so I put it on the future ideas folder. Then I saw this wonderful tutorial by Neil Duerden on Computer Arts Projects Magazine called “Going Round in Circles” and the idea returned to me. I actually come from 2D into 3D so mixing them as I did in this image fells very natural to me and brings many of my talents together.

All renders were done with Daz Studio and the background was a separate fractal render in Bryce. The lines were done in Illustrator and all was put together in Photoshop in the end.

The message I wanted to convey was actually very simple. I wanted to communicate joy, dancing, worship and motion at the same time. Church worship can many times be a little rehearsed as it is a group activity. Worshiping at Church can be glorious but when we are alone with God we are many times released from the patterns and scripts and can truly worship with all out hearts, minds, bodies and spirit.

God Bless
